Social media has proven to be fertile ground for those wanting to manipulate people, citizens and society. We’ve seen with Brexit and numerous elections how bad actors can use sophisticated algorithms, the power of fast computers and misinformation to alter the votes of enough individuals to change outcomes.
When I was lecturing on society we had a session called “Calling Bullshit”. Ask yourself
Who is telling me this?
How do they know?
What are they trying to sell me?
