Information for Agents/Publishers

Like most writers, I’m looking for an international agent or publisher to help take me to a wider audience. Although my books are set in New Zealand, I believe they are suitable for an international audience. I read books set in a range of countries!

Whatever happens, I will maintain control of publishing within New Zealand. If a book I write attracts interest, I will have New Zealand publishers knocking on my door - too late. I want those who have supported my writing throughout to benefit. I would love an international publisher as that sits well outside my area of expertise - call me!

I previously published under the CopyPress imprint - a small publisher based in Nelson, New Zealand. With The Target, I have started using my own imprint - Two Roads.

I hold all the rights to my books.

Books

Information about my published books is available on this website. This section is a brief overview of what has been published, what’s about to be published, what has been written but not published and novels that are planned.

  • No Way Back(working title) - First novel written, a prequel - unpublished (à la Bryce Courtenay’s advice)

  • Surveillance - published 2022. Shortlisted for the Ngaio Marsh awards.

  • The Democracy Game- published 2023

  • Weeping Angels- published June 2024. Shortlisted for the 2024 NZ Booklovers Fiction Book of the Year

  • The Target - Published April 2026.

  • Name TBD - Set in 2048, this book and associated exhibition will attract a lot of interest. The clock is ticking!

  • 2084 (planned) - Leaning heavily on George Orwell , it will look at society in sixty years’ time.

Also

  • The Single Dad’s Guide to the Galaxy: Parenting in the real world. Published under my real name in 2017, it is available as a printed book through IngramSpark, an eBook through PublishDrive and as an audiobook through InAudio.

But …

And it’s a big but - I don’t do social media! I see it as a positive, a selling point. If you insist on making money for Zuckerberg and Musk, that’s on you. I think in the future you will want to be on the side of people who said - social media is not okay (it’s certainly not social). You could represent the author who said NO.
