Support the kaupapa
Kaupapa is a plan, a set of principles and ideas that inform behaviour and customs. My kaupapa, purpose to use a similar but inferior word, is to entertain readers and help society confront the issues it needs to in order for people, all people, to thrive in the future. Inequality, climate change, discrimination, injustice, racism and bigotry are alive in well in Aotearoa - they shouldn’t be!
If you are in a position to help, without causing yourself hardship, here are some ways you can support the kaupapa.
It almost goes without saying but buying a book is the simplest act you can take. If you enjoy the book, don’t forget to put a review somewhere on the internet!
Subscribe to my substack as a paid subscriber (from as little as $5/month). It’s where I’m publishing the first novel in the series (it needs a little tweaking so I’m publishing it as a serial). Click on the image to visit.
Sponsor the creation of an audiobook (both Surveillance and The Democracy Game are waiting). This is a great way to support my writing, but also to help other New Zealanders in the creative arts field (narrators, editors etc).
