History is never written by the dead.

This thought struck me twice in a day. The first time was on the news when Trump was talking about the latest US casualties - three deaths. I thought about the number of Iranians killed in the war and how the narrative is controlled. The second time was when I was listening to a The Rest is History podcast about Gallipoli. Early in the campaign, before ground troops were landed, Churchill (who was the mastermind (!!!) behind the campaign) told parliament that they had lost a couple of worthless ships and a few causalities - not mentioning the French ships that were lost with great loss of life. How many people even knew the French were involved in Gallipoli?

If you’re looking for: a genius, a thought leader, a transformational change agent or societal visionary, then you’re on the wrong site. Be careful though, as Tarantino’s character in Reservoir Dogs Nice Guy Eddie observed - ‘just because they say it, now that don't necessarily make it fucking so.’
